TATTOO
TormentWHY?
BECAUSE I DON'T FUCKING KNOW WHAT I WANT. It's destroying me. I've never wanted anything as bad as I've wanted this tattoo.
I can only think of five ideas:
1. Get a large tattoo of part of one of Alphonse Mucha's artwork on my back.
He's my favourite artist, and is probably the king of Art Nouveau. Problem is, which one of his pieces would i pick!? this is his most well know piece of art: [link]
It was used in a massive advertising campaign over a century ago. But is it my favourite? i don't know. I love so many of his works *sigh*

My second option, go for a small one to begin with. no, i'm not scared of the pain, but permanently getting something imprinted on your skin is a big decision (personally), so maybe something big wouldn't be the way to go. What if my tastes change and i grow to like different styles of art?
but what will i always love? MUSIC. I'm a musicaholic. So maybe i get a small tattoo representing my love for music? I came across this one, and i really like it: [link]
But i would re-adapt it. Make it spikier, a bit more rocker looking since thats the genre of music i love. See the wicked spikes on this tattoo? [link] That would be really hot. I just don't like the heart xD

3. Get a gnarled tree. yes, a gnarled tree. like this: [link]
except black and white and more polished looking. I love trees, and i always will. I'm a tree hugger, so i don't think i would have any regrets having a tree permanently on my body xD
4.Get something pretty and flowery like this (but again, more polished looking) : [link]

5. Get something stupid and sentimental. Like a banana. Or one of the bananas in pyjamas. I LOVE them. and i know i will always have an affection for them. But when will the novelty wear out? xD

WHAT I DON'T WANT: Coloured Tattoos. I think they can be very tacky (but it depends). If i got the mucha tattoo, i might have to do colour. But not for any of the others.
I also don't want a portrait of any sort. I can't be guaranteed a tattoo artist as good as those on Miami or LA ink, and i wouldn't want to get a horrible disfigured portrait XD
I also don't want something that means nothing to me. Thats Why i think Idea #4 might be out.

You could incorporate certain elements of your ideas into one as well... Like a Mucha painting with various musical notes hidden and placed about within the original painting (ie. background, in strands of hair, etc.) But I dunno if you'd want to do something like that or if you'd consider it a kind of "violation" by not keeping his artwork in it's original form.
...I had really no idea how to word that last sentence, so it probably doesn't make any sense @_o;

2. You could do the note along with a bigger tattoo, like i did with my clover. Also, make it very small, about 2~3 cm big, and on a place like your ankle/wrist.
Everyone LOVE music, and keep in mind that people can think that you're a musician, because it's usually musician that gets notes tattoos like this. (i'm pretty sure of that)

4. Flowers on a lady are always nice, but it's a bit taste-less. Well, not really taste-less, what i mean it's that it's very very very very common. I hope you get me
5. For the banana, the same as the note applies to it: makes it tiny, on your ankle.
Also, keep in mind that tattoos are a constant reminder of something.
The clover on my ankle is to cheer me up when i'm grumbl-ing about something trivial, and to tell me how lucky i am (to have a family, a very comfortable house, friends, and more than the basics needs to live.. well you get it )
The lotus meaning in general is that something as pure and pretty as a lotus flower grows out of the mud. The meaning of it to me is to motivate me, a constant reminder that i have to make something great out of my life, and to motivate me whenever i feel lazy (i really need it )

think about it though, but that is what i think your best option is right now - something simple for at first - you can always grow and add on to that heart anything you want later
